Identifying Oxide and CaS Non-Metallic Inclusions in Steel with Raman Spectroscopy

نویسندگان

چکیده

Identification and characterization play an essential role in the study of non-metallic inclusions (NMIs) monitoring steel casting process product quality. This uses Raman spectroscopy, a versatile, relatively fast, non-destructive technique for characterizing oxide sulfide-based inclusion phases samples. The relative peak intensities positions were used to qualitatively estimate Al2O3, CA, C12A7, C3A, MgO·Al2O3, CaS. For quantitative estimation, FESEM-EDS (field emission scanning electron microscope with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy) was evaluate demonstrates that spectroscopy can be rapidly content magnesium aluminate spinel (MgO·Al2O3), calcium C12A7 samples complement established techniques NMIs analysis such as FESEM-EDS.

Metallic nanorods synthesis and application in surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy

Metallic nanorods synthesized by oblique angle deposition on glass substrate are utilized as nano-scale structures that can be coated with SERS active metal to allow for excitation of surface plasmons. The synthesized nanorods have an average length of ~500-600 nm and are randomly distributed on the substrate. The SERS studies with Near-IR excitation at 785 nm show significant enhancement with ...

use of raman spectroscopy to decrease time for identifying the species of candida growth in cultures

background: the objective of this study is to establish raman signatures from pure cultures of different candida species using raman spectroscopy (rs) and use these signatures for rapid identification of unknown candida species. methods: pure cultures of five candida species were evaluated using rs to build a limited signature library. ‘raman processing’ (rp) software was used for principal com...

Polarized surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy on coupled metallic nanowires.

Regular-shaped metal nanocrystals and their ensembles can serve as ideal substrates for studying surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). We synthesized well-defined silver nanowires for a systematic study of SERS signal with respect to polarization and structural ordering. The observed dependence on polarization direction confirms prior theoretical predictions that large electromagnetic (EM) ...
